PhD Scholarships

We are witnessing a revolution in the development of space. What was once the exclusive domain of a few nations and companies is now becoming a new frontier for many countries, businesses, organizations, and even individuals.

Driven by the rapid growth of the small satellite industry—often referred to as NewSpace—and declining launch costs, large-scale satellite constellations are becoming a reality. These constellations are revolutionizing global connectivity and enabling new paradigms in space autonomy and distributed sensing architectures. As constellations scale to hundreds or even thousands of satellites, intelligent onboard autonomy becomes critical to ensure safe, efficient, and resilient operations with minimal ground intervention.

 

We invite highly motivated applicants from the following disciplines to join our research team:

  • Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Aerospace / Mechanical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering / Computer Science

 

Successful candidates will conduct cutting-edge research on next-generation autonomous satellite systems, with topics including (but not limited to):

  • 🛰️ On-board Space Situational Awareness
  • 🧠 On-board Edge Computing
  • 🔄 Adaptive and Intelligent Mission Planning
  • 🛠️ Fault Detection, Isolation and Recovery
